Progress crit

Key points from the crit:
  • Rethink leading/kerning
  • do posters need stripes?
  • menu covers- the type of menu needs to be bigger
  • how could I fold the invitation
The crit was really helpful getting outsiders opinions on my work as I wasn't aware some of the provers were illegible so I have revisited them and made some alterations as well as other points made.

Final crit

Key things from the crit:
  • Text is too small on Dead Man's Shoes ident, also need to be moved to white space so more legible.
  • Need to experiment more with packaging ideas
  • Sounds on ident could be individual to films
  • Move star rating to same place as quote on all idents
  • Dead Man's Shoes fence draws slow in places can this be sped up?
  • Contradicting views, one pair liked the idents without the flag the other said they preffered them with.

  • flag looks too photoshopped, make it more realistic
  • adding just tiny sneaks of colour now and then might look good
  • look at type used in the actual films
  • speed of drawings
  • experiment with colour
  • research into audio

Design Direction crit

After laying out our presentation words, our work was critically evaluated by another pair. I found the crit extremely beneficial and productive and I liked the fact that our work had to speak for itself in order for people to understand and give feedback.

My feedback poins out some really good/ helpful points and I now know what decisions I have to make and how to move forward. I need to finialise my media, if I'm going to collage photos with drawings or if the photos won't work, I need to define my audience with regards to age rather than just interest and ensure I keep consistency within all animations.

One point which was made was to keep the typeface very simplistic to add clarity and understanding on screen, this is something I had considered with the Arial Black but I need to explore other options.

I made this quick action plan afterwards in order to take things further and do what I need to do.
